Pulse Hospital, Bhagalpur has a Philips flat-panel cardiac catheterisation (cath) lab. According to the hospital, it is the first and only flat-panel cath lab in the city of Bhagalpur.
The cath lab was started at Bhagalpur under the guidance of Dr. Sushil Kumar Thakur, M.D., PDCC.
What is a cath lab?
A cardiac catheterisation lab is a specialised procedure room with X-ray imaging equipment. It lets cardiologists see the heart's arteries and chambers in real time while guiding thin catheters through blood vessels – without open-heart surgery.
